The RESULT of My Playfish Halloween Competition is OUT

The official Playfish says:

With Halloween done for another year, there's just one last issue to clear up.

Who won?

You might well ask. If you take a look at the competition tab on the Playfish fan page you'll see there's been thousands and thousands of entries.

So who won?

Well... more people than we first said would win. The quality of entries, and we really should have seen this coming because this is so typical of you guys, the quality of entries was absolutely amazing.

And who won?

We're just coming to that. OK, so in ascending order, starting from 14th place, without further ado we present to you the winners of our 2009 My Playfish Halloween competition!

How to place wall decorations NOT against the wall !

You might have previously seen someone's restaurant who have doors for their toilets.

Or drapery NOT on both side of the walls but in the middle of the restaurant.

How did they made it

It's actually quite simple.  (Not hard at all compare to How-to-stack )

So, today's topic is:

How to have door for toilets

How to set up drapery nicely on a nice stand-alone white wall

How to have window in the middle of the restaurant

How to have a teleport door like 'Doraemon Anywhere Door'

How to have flying wall candles like those in 'Hogwarts School (Harry Potter)'

Follow the steps and you'll have it done perfectly.

Place an object on to a spot, wherever you want your door or wall item to be at later.

Drag the object to the "TICK" mark.

At this point, remember to change your tools menu to the doors or wall decorations menu before you proceed to drag.

Then, release left-click on your mouse.

Without clicking anything, drag the object to a wall items that you've selected.

Click on to it.

Drag the wall item out and place it on

It doesn't matter where you drag and place it on, the item will bounce automatically back to the spot where you've placed the object from the beginning once you released.

Save your game and...

Taadaaaaaah~

A Magical Door where people comes out from nowhere

Next, how to turn to face different direction.

Place out a *turnable* object on to a spot.

Then, turn object to face whichever direction you want your wall item to face.

Repeat steps to as stated above Just repeat exactly the same

The wall item will then automatically turn to face accordingly

Save your game and...

This kind of UPDATES really made my day   It's so unexpected.

Well, you still need to get rid of them for your friends.

But, you of course are not doing it for free.

From what I've tried,

you'd get $15 by helping the first 5 friends, $10 the next 5 friends, $2 when you reached 37 friends and $1 when you reached 70 friends...  (if i'm not mistaken)

And, new  TROPHIES  due to this cute lil' trouble.

For example, 2 machines went down

Click on 1 broken machines, the timer starts for [Fixing].

While 1st timer started to run,

you could still click on the 2nd broken machine, and the timer set for [Waiting] until the 1st one finished fixing.

Click twice on timer [Waiting] and it'll be cancelled.

The Restaurant City Garden

I know, this entry might be just so out-dated for your information.

It's just that I still need to write about the Garden , even though you might have already got the details from all other game sites..

So, the Garden at the back of your restaurant (added by Playfish since the 28 Aug 2009), is actually a small farm which produces ingredients to be used in recipes.

How to plant?

First, click the soil, and the following window will pop-up.

Wanna plant a seed? Yeah, plant when you have the   of course.

It's pretty costly.

There're 9 patches, each for 2,000 coins.

18,000 coins for all 9 patches at one time.

Moreover, you wouldn't know what ingredients you are going to get

You know, you may get ingredients which do not even worth a coin

Imagine 3 saffrons at a time...6,000 coins gone...

Well, you might get 3 sugars in return though~

Anyway, here are some details about the GARDEN

You can only get these ingredients now by planting or trade.

You can only start to plant a seed when you reached certain levels.

Care for the plants

There's not much to care of for the plants.

You just need to water the plants before it dries up.

The plant will stop growing if you leave the soil dry to crack.

However, there's nothing to worry about as well.

It will not die and back to growth once you water them again.

One click gives out 3 hours of water.

0 hours  3 hours  6 hours 9 hours

The process of growth

The plants take 48 hours to grow until they're ready to harvest.

There are 6 stages of growth.

Stage 1 : 48 hours to go
Stage 2 : 38 hours to go
Stage 3 : 28 hours to go
Stage 4 : 18 hours to go
Stage 5 : 8 hours to go
Stage 6 : Ready to Harvest

You can't tell what ingredients that you'll be getting the first 30 hours (Stage 1 to Stage 3) for all plants appearance are the same.

How to get perfect arrangement for EXTERIOR

Now, you must have gone through some frustration when your exterior arrangement kept running out of order in Restaurant City.

For example,

I want a lamp post to be at the front but it kept hiding behind something else.

I want those BIG treesto be at the back, but it kept coming to the front and cover up all my other decorations.

I just can't settle down the flowerbed nicely...

So, here's the SOLUTION

Before starting, we've to bear one thing in mind that we're going to arrange and decorate everything in layers.

Take one of my complete design as an example.

First of all,

Group all items farthest back as Layer 1.

Group items directly in front of Layer 1 as Layer 2.

Group items directly in front of Layer 2 as Layer 3.

Group items directly in front of Layer 3 as Layer 4.

Group items directly in front of Layer 4 as Layer 5.

Okay, now just bear in mind and remember the arrangement that you wish to have in LAYERS.

First, start with doors and windows.

Doors or windows are always at the back no matter when you arrange it, so just take it easy here.

Save and reload.

Put in Layer 1 which you've in mind that they're gonna be the farthest back.

Save and reload.

Put in Layer 2 on top of Layer 1.

Save and reload.

Put in Layer 3...

After reloading, you might noticed that the layering arrangement is not right already at this point. Layer 2 has gone to the back of Layer 1. But, don't worry and keep going

Save and reload.

Put in Layer 4...

Layer 2 is now fixed but Layer 3 (Flowerbed, windmill blade, trees...) is out hiding farthest back behind. Ignore and keep going.

Save and reload.

Put in Layer 5...

Same thing, Layer 3 is now fixed and with Layer 4 fall back hiding behind. You should have realized by now on how the layers arrange themselves every time you've reload the game.

Save and reload.

So now we have come to the last layer and the last layer usually always fall back farthest behind.

Save and reload again without doing anythingWhich means, you should have double saving and reload at .

See  Done perfectly

You can add in anything else that you wish as long as they do not clash with other objects.

I forgot my 3rd ghost. So, I'm going to add in my 3rd ghost to the right corner above.

Remember Do not bring back any items to inventory which you've placed out in order to get the perfect result

And now we are done perfectly with the correct arrangement as you wished.

With Halloween on the way we wanted to see how you celebrate Halloween Playfish style, and win some amazing prizes!

All you have to do is post something on the fan wall titled "My Playfish Halloween". It can be a video, or a comic, or a song... anything you like. Maybe you'd like to make a Halloween costume and show us a photograph, or perhaps you want to compose a song all about your Playfish Halloween? Perhaps you'd like to hold a Playfish themed party either in Pet Society, Restaurant City, Country Story or Crazy Planet or even in real life and you want to show us what you have planned? Our three favourite entries will win some mind blowing Playfish prizes!
